This is so enjoyable to read, and it serves as a mental prompt for me to recall various neighbors I've had over the years.

Dementia sufferers were able to visit so easily in those days, things change.

Your two posts have really gotten me to thinking/remembering the neighbors of my life.  I remember them in bunches.  The first group was from my childhood to marriage, and from a child's point of view. They are the ones I remember the most.  The second group from my marriage to me at age 50, and the third group since.   I'm enjoying this.
