Like CCT, I also prefer ants to fleas! Outside I leave them to their own devices, but I wouldn't invite them in...

Well Kabu I prefer ants to fleas, I am learning to love wasps as they eat a lot of pests.

Slugs are low down on the list snails are slightly better because one can throw them over the fence and some have really nice decorative shells.Rats are not much to my liking, ants are very hard little workers.

I had a big problem with ants a few years ago. I now have an exterminator that does a treatment that has worked wonders.

The ending is very sweet. This reminded me of the horribly frightening experience I once had when I went for selection in the Air Foce. There was a friend of mine who got into the Army. I stayed alone at a dilapidated shack in the Forest Training School in Dehradun whereas he proceeded to Mussouri on the hills. That night, there was no light and a bunch of ants got inside my pants. Thankfully they didn't bite. I woke with a start. Early next day I went to the hills. It still makes me re-live that experience whenever any incident occurs.

Off the subject... I deleted my recent post. Just wanted you to know it had nothing to do with you and Wileys comments. I had other reasons. My apologies. oh, and poor sheep. lol

If you will slice cucumber and rub it over the area, ants will turn back. That is a beautiful bush in the photograph. Be blessed.

I saw an ant the other day.  I thought I got rid of the problem.  And yes, the wasps are really bad where I live.  Sometimes I have to duck from them to get into the door!

Weird, I recently spotted an ant or two as well.  They are so annoying.  Where there's one, you know a colony isn't far behind...

The ants are always a problem. They hate chalk. There is a Chinese chalk...doesn't harm humans or pets. Oh, flower shopping sounds so fun. Beautiful picture.

I wondered if peppermint oil worked for ants.. I've been fighting them

recently, too. I use Raid on the doorsills, etc., where I think they get in, but so far it is only effective for a day or two.

Sorry about the ant problem.  I haven't been bothered for about two years, but before that it was awful.  Have you tried peppermint oil?  You dilute it 30 to one and spray it at the aunts and around where you think they got in.  It doesn't hurt them but they hate it.
