Re: -blackcat

Me too, but so were a lot of people. That's why he ended up at 13 to 1, from 30 to 1. :) If he did that well on a sloppy attack, half blind, inexperience, he could still win a stakes race one day!

I was rooting for Patch.  :)

Re: shelly_b

He's gorgeous, except that the hole where his eye was ain't so pretty, but who's looking? How nice you got to ride when you visited your grandparents' home.

Patch is beautiful!  My grandparents had a girl who lived next door and she had horses.  I use to ride them when  was young.

Re: JennyHeart

Thank you so much, Jenny. He's a special horse, with a lot of heart! And he ran for the roses...much more than many a horse can do in a lifetime. He's a winner!

Re: C_C_T

Yes, he's a very good-looking horse. He did well, considering. Thank you, C_C_T.

That's a good thing, I think.

Re: Kabu

Hard not to love a beautiful animal like that, isn't it. Hope you and Wiley are having better picture luck than I am at Blogit. :) Naw, I didn't have any money on it, but if I had, I would have made some bucks. I picked Win and Place correctly. Oh well...

Re: sam444

He did better than I thought he would. I always enjoy that event. Wait, I'm not running in it... LOL!

Perfect

The poem had me wondering and feeling the story. The ending was one of a kind. I love horses blind or not. Yes he is a winner! Thank for this great prose of a story. Just great!

Lovely sheen to the horse. Sad though such a disadvantage I would imagine. Of course a good jockey might be able to allow for any miscalculation. Just lets hope this gallant horse finishes and is not injured. Lovely blog.

Re: Re: Aba

First, I wrote place, then corrected it to space, for the sake of creating confusion, and I was successful, Lol  I am in a jovial mood, having avoided assessing the answer sheets. But, Monday again, no respite.

Re: Aba

Thanks, Aba. But something is wrong with Blogit (or me). I can't get the pictures in at a proper size. Oh, you mean the space in the race... hah hah! I thought you meant the size of the photo. LOL! Everyone will be wishing him luck, well, almost everyone.

Lovely, Presta deah

He is a fine stallion to deserve that space. Wish him all the luck, and you have beautifully brought alive his story. Kudos! .

Re: Nautikos

One eye and all, you're right, Naut, he is beautiful! Who couldn't wish the guy luck? I've loved horses forever, as did my parents. You were lucky to spend time around them. My first horseback riding lesson was on a former dressage jumper, and he went for a fence! Scary. I'll be mixing Mint Juleps to sip while watching the race...

RP

He's beautiful! I have loved horses since I was a boy, and have sometimes spent time with them, in the saddle and in their stalls. An of course I wish him good luck...Oh, and there's nothing wrong with the size of this photo...
