Re: CCT,
Yes, they give us such uncomplicated love and that is precious and hard to lose. You're right, Charlie will have another, a rescue from a shelter no doubt, as a way to give another dog the love he gave Davy--in part, as tribute to Davy.

Poor Charlie, I know when my dog died I felt really ill afterwards . I never has another, but Charlie is young and probably will want the company.

At least he died knowing he was loved, people do not always get that comfort.

Re: mneme,
What you're going through now is so much harder, but sometimes I think dealing with pets' dying helps prepare us for letting go of family members who go before us, and perhaps even our own letting go when the time comes.
Good for you, being there for your cat when it was her time.

It hurts to lose a treasured pet doesn't it ... I only did it once, our lovely cat was thirteen and very poorly. I held him while the vet administered a high dose of anaesthetic, didn't want him to be on his own. I think we are all a bit soft when it comes to our animal companions. xx

Re: Kabu,
Thanks... He was a happy dog, if an anxious-to-please dog. I will pass your message along.
