May Day is never really celebrated in Australia. it just means that it is getting cold and winter is close by.i love those flower baskets and what a lovely idea.

The children danced around the May pole I remember it once or twice. Sadly it usually rained. Wouldn't it be nice to see the blogit members staggering around one. Well those who do stagger perhaps.

It would be nice...
if spring would get here and stay, without occasional returns to winter snow and freezing overnight temps. A year ago, it snowed on May Day, this year, the day before.

I remember gathering wild flowers - and there was a Maypole
dance as part of the spring festival at MHS one year when I was in high school.

I love the idea of a Maypole and ribbons and dancing, and baskets. There was always a parade in the town I lived in growing up. It was a fun time, the beginning of May.
