We have a thing in our family. we all shout 'Heard it.' Well it is only between Arthur and myself. We just smile sadly when another sibling repeats the same tale. Of course it would be cruel for you not to listen to your son's memories, he probably enjoys living through them which is a job to do if one is alone. You are a lovely Mum.

sometimes all anyone needs is someone to sit and listen to them. You're a good mom.

It's too bad there's not a USO or a vet-friendly bar where
sailors could go and reminisce about their sea duty. I wonder if your son would be interested in writing his stories about the ships and etc... He's right about the phones & remotes. Hard to compete with those distractions. And your verse is just right!!!

As you mentioned to me, you get seasick! Very unfortunate, but maybe that's one reason you don't like to hear about his adventures, LOL...I, on the other hand, am lucky - I have never experienced the mal de mer! It's strictly a matter of genes, I think. Anyway, I would be delighted to hear his stories! Maybe you should get him to write them out and post them!
