Yes a sad thing but some have genuine difficulties to overcome I guess.

Shama

Yes read about it and also that it has affected those unaccounted for money. Anyway I hope in the long run the poor don't suffer. Glad you liked the poem Shama, thanks so much my friend.

CCT

I hope you got that spade but then you have always come across as someone generous and charitable so I don't think that's a problem. Glad you liked the poem.

Aba

Yes indeed it is a tale of giving Aba. I only feel sad for those who hoard and show stinginess. Yes, its such a big thing demonitising the 500 and 1000 currencies but it has got the black market in the red I think lol. I hope the poor people stands to gain from this.

Great work, Shobs, and a message for all and sundry. A twist in the tale of giving. Generous giving versus the stigyneess of hoarding is alawys painful in the end. Unfortuneltly, we are out of cash due to deminitising of 500 and 1000 rupee notes.

Good thinking! How many people die saving money, and leave it to their kids. These people live and die as guards to the money they used to have.

My epitaph will read, being of sound mind she lived life to the full, gave away what she could, and spent the rest on fun.

I love this and am so glad you posted it. There were many in the USA who had lived through the Great Depression when I was a child (not me, I'm not THAT old - lol) and that fear of not having enough money dictated the rest of their lives. This ohilosophy of giving is something I have learned to believe in. Thank you.

Poor chap, I have known a  few like that and they end up spending all their money in a care home. Yo made a good point here Shobana I'll go and buy myself a smaller spade for digging, I though it might be an extravagance.

We Indians have 'run out of cash' due to demonetisation by our Prime Minister :(
You have presented the truth so beautifully. Loved it.

I have come across a few Scrooges. I wonder, too, what is the deal with them, how they got to be that way.
