As I listen to Trump rant and rage I can't help but think of another who spoke as he did...and look what happened when Hitler was elected! He brings out the worst in those that follow him. I can't think of one sane reason to elect him as president.

What gives me hope is WE DO RE-ASSESS leaders: Mandela. Gandhi, Lincoln,
Reagan - rather unpopular as was George W. Bush, until tragic events helped. Obama will be treated well by history, I suspect. God has a sense of mystery, humor, even confounding human expectations. But I love the balance and clear thought, balance, and wisdom in this post. I will take away, "Politics is not about family." The politicians made us think it is! LOL

Well Ciel I am moderately happy with the way our politics are ticking over at the moment. I just wish they could bring George Washington back for you guys.

I believe there are the sane and the deranged on both sides, that there are liberal and progressive values that would make the world better for a lot of people, and worse for some. I believe there are conservative values worth preserving and cherishing as well as some that limit our ability to function in the world as it is. I think it comes down to whether someone is purely out for their own advantages, or cares about the community as a whole. It is a difference between civility and barbarity, not so much between liberal vs conservative.

One of my nephews posted on facebook today that liberalism is a form of mental illness.
I posted back that liberals think the same thing about conservatives so I guess we are all a bunch of nuts.
