Correct, good memory! He died in 2001, and is buried in the Political Graveyard... I believe he was a second cousin to my mother. Don't know much about that side of the family, however.

Ok... If I recall properly, he died about 2000 or so of liver cancer. He served two terms from a Detroit district. I never met him but I do remember remember reading about his death.

Hmmm. On a national level, that seat currently belings to Bill Huizenga, a man I have met but can't say I know well. On a state level, I think the Second District is from Detroit. I can't say I've known many from that district. I currently live in Michigan's 70th District with Rick Outman as its rep. Outman is term limited out this year and will most likely be replaced by Jim Lower. Anyone in particular you know??

Seems like you want to do that! As and aside, would you have happened to have known anyone from the Michigan State House of Representatives, 2nd District, from the late 70s onward? :)
