it is the system of education in schools that is blame, and not perhaps being the descendant of a slave. Most likely she may not be.

Jimmy Kimmel does a thing from the streets of Hollywood and they ask them questions that have nothing to do with anything that is real and they always have amazing answers.

"Watters' World" is one of the best segments on O'Reilly. It never ceases to amaze me what people say.

You are making an important point! We don't get 'Water's Wold' on any of our channels in these parts, but the phenomenon you speak of is well known to me in a variety of contexts.

History is no longer being taught properly at our high schools, and at the universities people don't bother taking it any more. As a society, we're suffering from a case of 'collective amnesia!' When individuals suffers from amnesia, they lose their identity - they no longer really know who they are. Unfortunately, that applies to society as a whole as well...

Again, my thought was like Kabu's; that perhaps she wasn't a descendant of slaves. However, I would hope that if she was educated in the US she would know the answer to that question. Unless we have come so far that we do not collectively remember, which of course, is ludicrous. :)

That one surprised me but maybe she wasn't a decendant of slaves. I find the young ones not very interested in anything much from the past...sad isn't it because where we started from can tell us so much about where we want to continue to grow.

There can't be a lot of memory cells being activated Justi. I have spoken to youngsters who hardly know a thing about the grandparents except they were there once. I think the minds a being bundled with instant images that have no substance.
