I don't argue with people about being a vegetarian.  I think it's a choice.  I made mine and I hope others respect it as I respect theirs.

Re: Katray,

One thing that we could think about in view of the need to kill for sustenance or because we have killed off so many predators that we now have to replace them to keep species from dying off from the effects of overpopulation, is that death is not necessarily to all creatures the terrible thing so many humans have made it.

Re: CCT,

I wonder if you'd have gotten a different response from the girl if you'd asked if she like to eat lambs and calves and pigs...  Yes, in nature, power will always dominate. Among humans, we have choice about that, and there have always been humans who sought for life to be more fair and just. But most humans still seem follow their natural inclinations.

Hunting for sport is not a recreation that I understand..

This well done post reminds me of a friend who said he became a vegetarian and felt great. Then he started hearing about plants having much more developed emotional and thinking capabilities than what was generally believed. So he started feeling guilty about eating anything at all. He questioned his God and came to the conclusion that humans were created to survive and that they should do so but in balance with nature as much as possible and never for greed/over consumption. Works for him, 20 years on now..:)

Well my brother had Tuna for lunch he asked if I wanted to taste it. No I said do they eat dolphins. No they are mammals. I suppose chickens were dinosaurs once.I asked a girl once if she liked meat. I remember she said. 'Yes I love meat.' Somethings make one sad. The powerful will always exploit the weaker. Of course when young one does not give a monkey.
