I know I might have relations out there, but it is a bit late to start searching. Probably have some here that I won't mention. Hope our Wiley passes his test. Archie's F.I.L has just been referred to the doctor, they do it differently here.

A lot of people are feeling very happy when they look at their heating oil bills. It is amazing just how much the price of oil has fallen.

Columbus Day in the USA is also a mixed bag.

It's good the oil prices have dropped, I think the companies have been living high on the hog at our expense for long enough. But there is the worry that we'll burn a lot more of it and speed up the global warming, let's hope not.

Beautiful pic of the surf! Many Native Americans in the U.S. were wiped out by viruses to which they had no immune system developed when "visitors" came to stay!

Kabu

I think it would be a mistake to sever the symbolic ties to Britain, just as it would be in our case, especially since the Crown has no real power anyway...

I notice that among the Australians posting on Facebook

--the ones I read, anyway--are showing solidarity with the original People, and lambs. There seems to be quite a push to see them both as People and Persons, rather than as Things to do with as we most benefit.
