I found, too, that when I went away on vacations, there were different people and activities that I missed seeing and doing, respectively.
I always get bored when I have to go to one of these things where I have to sign a bunch of papers. So tedious.

It just amazes me how you can do these long visits, especially
the flight and all the boarding rigmarole, the packing and unsettling... I'm so dug in to my routine and location I'm getting a case of nerves just thinking of a 2-hour flight to Tampa...

A miracle that one can dash (compared to previous decades) half way around the world and be present with dear friends and kin, then dash back to other friends and loves, a trip that would have taken months in the 1800s, and a heck of a lot longer even 60 years ago.
There is a chance there will be something in your stack of mail by the time you get back, from me.

That certain age thing is for the birds if it is paperwork. I used to think it was fun to do taxes and legal stuff. Now I want to run from it, but I can't run any longer. I don't remember how to do it. LOL
