Well, with the rat snakes in this area, mice are rarely a problem......they also enjoy mice, of course.....that's when they aren't feasting on baby birds and bird eggs!  I find mice adorable little creatures, but I know what you mean about the mess....I had a storage facility once in Dallas, the outside entry variety...cheaper, and not temp controlled.  Well, when I returned to work and went to get my clothes and kitchen supplies out, I found my favorite,  beautiful chenille robe I had long loved to snuggle around in after a long day at work had provided a luxurious nursery for who knows how many generations of new mice!  And the smell...OMG!!!!!!!

Mr Graysome is pretty good at discouraging mice and since we had the basement fixed after the water heater flood fiasco we haven't really seen a mouse.

Re: I have a cunning plan...

I've set up a little box outside with some fluff and seeds and a bit of cheese. When I saw it run across the deck, I closed the doors so that one at least will stay outside. Of course, there may be more than one, so I shall continue to watch for dashing bits of shadow indoors.

Send the one, if you can figure out where to stick the stamp. I'm sure a mousey with an English accent and that Oxford panache would be quite popular here.

Well Ceil three wood mice have started to raid the bird table. It seems funny to see them in the day time, but the reason may be that they are afraid to come out at night because of marauding cats. So I think I can spare one so that your little friend will not feel lonely.

If you do want to nobble him, the best trap to use is quite cheap 'The Little Nipper.' From Amazon Some are apt to snag a leg and then it means killing a poor little injured beast.

Never a welcome visitor! We had one in the garage for a while, sniffed out and sometimes chased by Bennie - without succes - but it moved out again. Didn't want to tempt fate too often, I guess...
