It's the chemical killing I so dislike, amongst other environmental and social terrors. I like fresh cut grass, but those lil flowers don't hurt anybody and add a bit of color to lawns. Yes, did tom.'s but not this year; my Dear Mom is growing as usual and keeps me supplied..:)

I suppose one could have an artificial lawn and forget the chemicals. K I have violets in my lawn and cuckoo flowers which one hardly sees any longer. It is cut but not very close. You used to grow tomatoes. Liked the poem though.
