I hope that you are feeling better. My dad gets gout in his big toes once in awhile.

So sorry about that.  I had an episode of that years ago, maybe 30 years ago.  I don't remember going to the Doc for it and after what seemed like an interminably long time it went away and didn't come back.  I hope never to have it again.

Re: Pat,

A really big pain, I guess there isn't any energy left for the whining.
And thanks, I am working on it!

Re: Kabu,

You're weird... I don't need to be wearing pants to take a pill.

Re: Naut,

The 'experts' tell us that it is not what we eat--but that just isn't true. Large quantities of red meat also produce a lot of uric acid, and shellfish---! Three prawns, small ones, used to bring it on. So, port and roast beef, lamb and pork, and oily seafoods and shellfish are all to avoid.

Ironic, isn't it, that the very foods that are bad for diabetics make a good gout diet?

Ciel

Sorry about your pain! We tend to think of gout as a disease of the wealthy; in England in the 18th and early 19th century it was associated with drinking large amounts of port - something only the wealthy could afford! But I'm sure we acquire uric acid from other, more mundane sources as well...

I am sorry to hear it Ciel. When we feel fine we tend to forget it is because we are taking the pills. At least you know what to do. I keep trying to cut mine down, perhaps I'll ask the doctor in a week or two. A job driving I bet.

Ain't life grand sometime....and there are times when we have to double down, put on our big girl pants and take a pill.

Hope your meds catch up with your condition very quickly...

I really hate all disabling - so called minor - conditions. I suppose if I had a serious disability I'd find a way to meet the challenges like a big girl, but the twinge in the ankle that makes me limp also makes me want to whine about everything... Feel better.
