Re: C_C_T

Don't you eat them green and sour?  They make the best pies that way.

Re: FS

Thank you FS. Especially if one wants gold crowns just to mention one small expense.

Re: I fear I will never lose weight, now that my local store has begun

Dear me Pat, I am afraid you might be lost cause. You will have to go on iron rations.

The ice cream sounds delicious. I did buy some Cottage cheese we used to make it when the milk went sour, but sadly it tasted watery.

Re:

Thank you Justi . I thought I would clear the freezer and start again. Must try and eat more of it next year.

Taps

Funny you should ask ,my brother came across his garden today and he had a basinful of red ones as they were dead ripe. He asked if I wanted them and I said no because I do not like them as much as strawberries, I tried a couple and they were really sweet.

I do have one bush but Archie picked about 6 or 7 lbs to go in his freezer. I think he mixes then with other fruit, I'll have to ask him.

Thank you S. We have a health service here when it first was formed cartoons showed everyone wearing glasses even the cats. Since that heady time things have become more difficult to obtain. The service is still there but one has to wait and private options are or seem to be more readily available .

Re:

A don't please I think I eat too many strawberries etc as I water the crops. I have last years fruit still to contend with, pies would just about finish me off.;

Re: ChiffChaff

Well Bro the NH is cheap enough but it is a job to get a dentist doing thaT sort of service. I know a chap who has just had a new pair up and down choppers £200. You can see his smile from a long way off.

Re: overtherainbow

You must get those teeth fixed Jean, remember the nice gentleman . I love peaches, but guess there is nothing like one straight from the tree. On day you must whisper your dreams to us, go away Kabu,I asked first.

My father often brings up how getting older is expensive...As always, an excellent poem.

I fear I will never lose weight, now that my local store has begun

stocking Tillamook brand cheese, esp. the sharp white cheddar blocks that slice up so nicely to go with apple or soda crackers as a snack. Tillamook is a cheese maker on the Oregon coast - I toured their factory years ago. They also make ice cream, one of those "green" companies that adds no preservatives or chemicals to any of their products...

That was a lot of berries to give someone, a great gift. I loved the poem. Be blessed!

Growing old is expensive indeed as visits to service stations(hospitals, clinics)for repairs cost dearly :) What a beautiful poem!

well, i still have not got my teeth yet, i keep putting it off, wondering if i want to put thousands into them just to not live long enough to wear them out.  and about the weight, well, you dont want to get frail, so i say eat what you enjoy. fat or frail when our time comes it wount matter. lol, i still have blue berries from last year and must use them quickly, but i have not picked any this year...... i am putting up peaches now as i love them so, better than blueberries.  loved the poem especially the part about the rubbing away from time.  i have some hum dingers of dreams here.

I don't know where time goes either and I think that you have lost enough weight. You will look too scrawny like a half starved cockney gutter snipe if you aren't careful.

This poem in its pensive melancholy is another master piece...But when it comes to waist size, I'm heading in the direction of a youthful 32" again, though I may be stuck at 34. But then some outfits are selling 33" jeans...
