Well fortunately all the cats I have owned cut their own toenails, I would leave a pair of clippers outside the door and they scratched their scratching post too bits and ran up and down the concrete paths, never had a scratched cushion ever.If you could take the little chap for walks on hard roads it might do the trick.

Puss in boots? Perhaps if he doesn't stop going after your stuff

because he thinks everything is his - you could get some of those little kitty boots and tie them onto his front feet. He wouldn't like that, either, but your furniture might be glad...
Meanwhile, let him pout. You're doing what needs to be done.

you could try reversed tape on the favorite forbidden scratching places.

If he encounters that often enough, he might consider not mauling your furniture.

I loved hearing about this will little beast. Just to have my beast home would be such a joy.

I wish Mr. Graysome, you and Wiley well at the vet's tomorrow. I know that it was always interesting when my dad had to take the family Doberman to the vet's. He did not want to go.

I don't know....my cousin is a vet and maybe he brainwashed me but he told me (a) those horror photos on the anti-de-clawing stuff are by docs who don't know how to do it properly and, that argument aside...(2)when it comes to pets, especially feral pets you have rescued from almost certain death outside on the streets....all decisions are people over pets...it's as simple as that.

Now, of course, he wouldn't say that to just anyone...he knew I was a reasonably well-balanced, non-pet-torturing and compassionate person.  And, he was a talented and compassionate vet...who spade and de-clawed my cats.  In fact, when Bliss kept jumping up on my back and sliding into the sides of my feet, ripping and slicing them into bloody shreds, he declawed even her back feet.  We've had nothing but positive results with all four cats.

I am always amazed at what we will go through at the behest of our cats....they own us.

I think he's been going heavy on the catnip. I can tell by looking at him in the pic.

That's when it becomes clear that living with a dog has its advantages. I only have to make sure he doesn't eat the mailman...

With cats comes a hefty price to carry besides being animals with their own mind and moods.
