Re: lusterlove

Yes but you did not spend it on yourself so are just a victim of circimstance LLM. Kind of nearly innocent

Re: No doubt the new rules will be a great benefit to some, disaster for others

Yes Ciel and a lot will rush into poor investments, someone has already ordered a car priced at hundreds of thousands pounds. No, I am sure no one would take  the plant  distribution on. probably cost £100 with labour. The best of it is they could all afford to buy them. No use moaning though.

Re: It's your reason for being any more, doing up the plants and sharing

I know Pat my Mum was the same when she was OK. She also used to say her mother would give things away, much to the chagrin of her children, especially at Christmas.

Re:

Perhaps it is not so generous in your country FS. It is a source of dissent here.

Re: Krisles

Yes K. I bet there are a good many world cruises being booked, I can see more poverty ahead for a good many. Not much fun if one has to wait six months for a hip operation on the NH. Or rely on the state pension. You were a smart child.

I can guarantee you that people will take advantage of it, thinking of today, not of tomorrow on the part of many....planning on someone else taking care of it on the part of too many others.....and then the others will struggle to handle it in a responsible way, but they will be outdone by the burden placed on them to make up for the folly of the others.  It is the way of most, I am afraid I have seen it time and time again.  I think the first clue I remember really seeing the effect in action was when I read or heard the nursery rhyme about the Three Little Piggies?Sweet dreams and think of something sweet to write....or at least calming....tomorrow.

Bedding plants for older people--I can't imagine them not appreciating it.
My Dad used to do errands for "older people" in his retirement years.  Funny thing is most of those "older people" were younger than him.

Not so much fun doing something when you feel so obliged...can you find a replacement, as Ciel suggests? Darned government will probably find a way, as you say. A morbid poem now and then is okay. Are poets not moody?

sweet dreams to you and just put up a sign stating that the Gnomes cannot supply free seedlings this year due to it being a pain in the ask..your mother for sixpence.

In America, there is a political issue of whether or not to privatize social security. It is such a low priority that there is not much talk of it either way.

That is so wonderful. I love your generous spirit, but do not over do. I don't like to hear that you are feeling a bit sad. George and I are sending you smiles, songs and prayers.

It's your reason for being any more, doing up the plants and sharing

them - no matter if there's a need. I do the same with the crochet hook and a new ball of yarn - I've made a couple bushels of hats and scarves this winter, just  got into the habit and now anytime my supply runs low, I start looking for a sale.

No doubt the new rules will be a great benefit to some, disaster for others

No doubt the new pension rules will be a great benefit to some, disaster for others. After a while, the pendulum will swing back the other way.

If you don't want to do those plantings any more, maybe you can recruit a replacement to take it on?
