Yeah, I can understand Archie's concern, both for his future health and his place in your environment. Everyone likes to feel needed. And 'of mice and men' does sound a lot better than 'of rats and men' . . .

Re: adnohr
That's a new one adnohr, but there are a lot of them about.Half a bottle of wine and they take liberties. Archie seemed pleased when I told him he was part of this blog he actually came and did a bit of work this morning. I told him to take it easy until he learned what was wrong.

I sympathize with Archie - constant pain would be depressing! Hoping the doctors can get things fixed. Once again you have created beautiful imagery, having your words weave in and out and about in your poem. Like fairies.

Thanks Bro, well the rats are three miles or so from me so and only field rats , mind if I lived near I would be worried. The rat exterminator unfortunately has passed on he used to live next door to my sister. I'll have to tell her to phone the council.

Best of wishes to Archie. I would think a .17 caliber should take care of the rats.
Very nice poem.

Dear CC
Sending Archie good thoughts and a prayer. I put on my velvet gown and went into the formal rooms to read your poem...sat in front of the wide windows with the sheer embroidered panels, the room hushed and shaded by the beautiful live oak limbs that cry out for a swing I should be sitting in as I imagined your pen flowing across parchment pages, leaving in their wake those melancholy words... I came to leave a comment, first reading those of others....startled from my reverie and had to flip over to check your photo (which happens to stack right above mine so I can keep an eye on you!). Why you ask? To see what color your eyes are....I wanted to see if you are as full of it as you sound when you said to Naut, "it is only poetry of sorts." (If you aren't familiar with that joke about eye color and being full of it, think on it and I'm sure you'll figure it out....it looked like you are brown-eyed, like me!)

Hm,' they are a funny bunch Pat. Tony has a heart condition and a large garden to maintain and his wife has bad ulcers so she can't do much. The helper suggested is rather depressed over his job. Archie said if Tony employs the helper, he won't ever do another job for him. Most gardeners who walk with walking sticks and wonky legs charge
12pounds an hour, so it is an expensive job to employ them. I don't know what so called professionals charge. We shall see, a good job I can stand up and still lift a half hundred weight with one finger, well just off the ground.

Re:Kabu
Thank you dear, one thing he is no stranger to hospitals, I hope it is just strains as he was lugging a big tree root out a week or so ago. Arthur says the pains in his throat might indicate something. I am not letting him lift heavy things until we know the result.

Yes Archie hopefully will be OK,he's had every test known to Man Naut. Just hope he is lucky for all our sakes. I don't feel I have the energy to run a flower stall. Now you must not feel like that Naut, it is only poetry of sorts.

Good thinking there, about Archie feeling written off. Perhaps you
could ask him if he'd like a little help with the spring startup, since his situation is up in the air - he could supervise anything Tony might do, unless aggravation and impatience on the part of one or the other would addto Archie's stress levels.
