Re: So... It's not just this old gal who no longer enjoys whopping big meals.

Lo Pat yes what should be a pleasure unfortunately is an ordeal if one is used to small meals. I was really surprised when I visited the vet. It all seemed to have become like an emergency ward, with the appropriate uplift in price for services.

Re: Vermont

Well when you do put your photo in Taps gallery we need more young looking ones beside Jimmy.I don't think my car would make much of a trade in I just hope it will break down and I can get a lift everywhere.

So... It's not just this old gal who no longer enjoys whopping big meals.

Or waste. It all sounded good, but I'd have had to ask for a tupperware dish "to go," if he'd put that much food in front of me. I've gotten to the stage where I make a pot of
soup and that's my lunch or supper for a couple of days.  Loved the kitty in the box, and the scene in the vet's office. I've seen that Miss Superior and her pampered pup in my vet's office when I had Miss Kitty in to see Doc Spencer, years ago now.

I knew Bear would find you. But I'd trade that Jag in for a Lexus. I may read your

first piece over to learn how to look ten years younger.

Re: CCT

Yes Naut, Pets are a luxury today, I have always had dogs, but it just is not safe to let them out these days,I Know you love yours and that's how it should be. I'll have to weigh myself again.

Re:

Jimmy, Arthur did not want to get involved in a possible series of dinner parties. I think he had enough of those in the past.Yes a good idea just serve oneself, that's what I do.

Re: ChiffChiff

Hi Bro, I guess your pet is well trained, not a little wet ass. You are looking better.

Re:

Yes well etiquette does not gel on some blogs, as you know K. Yes but what I do with a doggie bag of gunge, can't put it in the compost bin, the council provide us with bins for food waste but I don't know where mine is. It would be a bit of a task pushing it down the loo. Well I hope pet owners wear pantie liners.

Re: A dinner party buffet is my favorite arrangement

Yes I agree Ciel, I don't want to be turned into French goose liver though.Funny the vets like to think they are doctors these days.

Re: cct

Well Jean, one has to try to oblige when the host has gone to so much trouble. Some would have loved it. Once my cousin went to my brother, and had a Xmas dinner. Later on we learned that he had then visited a freind and had another one on top.

Re:

Well it is better not to say one is leaving FS. I just had to do my tax returns as last year they were sent back three times and nearly drove me crazy. Thank you.

Re: adnohr

Yes the little wetter, stray cats are very nervous. I said I will only take the next one in if it sits and offers its paw as a hand shake. that's fair don't you think?

A dinner party buffet is my favorite arrangement

so you can choose just what and how much you want, and it saves the host/ess a lot of jumping around, too.  Sounds like the food was good, though.

Vets... yes, just hand over the charge card...

Well, it's about time you got your sweetness back on here!  I don't see how you can worry that much about weight gain from that meal with eating all that fiber!  You could have asked for a doggie bag (or is there a different term you use for leftover takeaway?) - I realize that's not usually the best in house manners, but neither is setting a soaked cardboard box down on a chair someone might sit down on after you've left the premises

ChiffChiff

Dandy meal you had there Chubby Bro. LOL and you did it justice, good for you. Ya couldn't beat that Vet down in price for the cardboard box, well keep trying Bro, missed ya and all.

I know what you mean. I'm not one for 'big' meals either. But, I also don't like to waste food. That's why I usually prefer to serve myself. Some hosts, although they're simply trying to be hospitable, might overdo it, and you don't want to insult them by not finishing your meal. Was that the possible 'agony' Arthur was trying to avoid . . . ?

LOL on the second part.
WOW on the meal.
I really enjoyed both parts.

I must be dull today...I don't understand what you have in the box...

I cannot eat a huge meal like you described either. perhaps the chap had another party the next night to eat up the leftovers.

CCT

Well, I'm glad you didn't disappoint the old boy and dug in heartily, even if you gained a pound or three! I know a little more digging in the garden will take care of that...And the scene at the Vet's? Priceless, as they say...
