I had to laugh when I read the part on the car dieing. There is no question the

British produced the best rock musicians but your cars...they break down more

 than American cars!

Re: ChiffChiff

Yes Bro ,well it is the thought that counts .No use putting flowers out in the freezing weather. It is always so danged cold in cemeteries. Kabu is sweet thinking of Joycie.

Re: Jimmy

11 stone Jimmy that would be my ideal. Yes there is not much sentiment in the world today Jimmy, the contractors don't think a poor woman, or man might still be grieving over his loved one.Archie might recover a man has brought him some pallets to cut up for sale as firewood, he will need the money his cam-belt has broken and damaged the car's engine.

ChiffChiff

I have to use plastic posies on my Joycies grave until spring. Kabu usually takes care of that as she's the flower person in this house, then we go together and install them Bro.

Interestingly, my wife went to visit the grave of her late niece recently, and the geniuses at the cemetery had 'trampled' her flowers building a grave site next to hers! No respect! And I'm glad Archie is still alive, albeit depressed. Tell him to think of positive things from now on! So, what's your ideal weight that you're striving for? Nine stone, or at least ten?

Re: Some days - sunny and bright - seem to mock the depressed soul.

I should be so lucky Pat seems like we both should have been psychiatrists.

Some days - sunny and bright - seem to mock the depressed soul.

I hope everyone is buoyed up by a stretch of kind fortune in your neck of the woods, and your biggest job becomes smelling the roses, not cheering up the downspirited.

Re: cct

Well Jean I always shudder when someone asked how I am. I know I shall have to listen to a host of their current complaints and provide suitable reassuring comments. By the way how are you? Only joking, hope you feel better soon, I am sure as it becomes warmer aches and pains do not trouble as much.

Re:

Well Krisles as a boy leaving school at 14 I helped my father on a traveling shop and we visited villages with paraffin and an assortment of  household goods Most folk seemed old, but I suppose most of the young men had been called up to fight and the girls worked in the Mills. In a way it was the beginning of the end of that era. Incidentally always criticize if possible, you have an interesting imagination.

Re: FS

Yes graves tend to disintegrate if they are not tended to. I am afraid folk have short memories.

Re:

Yes In am afraid I don't go as often as I should adnohr but if I could walk on air I could step out of this window and walk straight across to the hill that they are buried on. I do go in the summer when there are flowers available from the garden. Yes Archie can't even be bothered to annoy anyone lately. It was funny he was sitting in the Doctor's reception for therapy and the doctor called his surname which is quite a rare one up stood Archie and a colored man, The doctor looked in amazement.

Re:

Yes but when it said I had the heart of a man of 95 and the same for Arthur it makes one wonder if if they are trying to frighten folk, it was Government sponsored.

who cares about a few extra lbs...One needs to keep warm in the Winter. Archie will be alright. He just carries on so that you will pay his way for him every now and again.

I know that the cemetary that my paternal grandmother's parents are buried at has areas that are falling apart...It can be tough when the remnants from our past float away.

This is one of those poems of yours that is so interesting to me....and that I love to read not just because it is so very well crafted, but because it gives me such a realistic sense of a world so very different from mine...yet with a touch that I can easily relate to the feelings and personalities as though you were just down the street here in Texas.
