Re: Kabu,

My dog-loving daughter paid out thousands to get her dog's cruciate ligament repaired. If it had been my dog, I simply could not have done it.

Mostly, when menus are written up for services of any kind, they're aiming for the deepest pockets they can.  And with vets who so often truly do have their hearts in the right place, they are forced to it by the pharmaceutical companies who never ever see the animals or the families or the human companion weeping because they have to watch their pet die, because they don't have the money to fix or treat what's wrong. We are a profit-driven society.  It's sad.

Re: Pat,

I've heard there are kinds of insurance for pets... again, you have to have the money for it.

Re: Naut

The most important thing, for most professionals, is the getting paid .

I had just seen SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE when I adopted her, and the Gwyneth Paltrow character was Viola. I just changed it up a bit.

Re: JimmyA,

Which is fine, I also prefer to use cash--it rarely gets hacked!  But you have to have the cash or the plastic, or you can't even walk in the door.

I am sorry to read about Violletta and i believe it is the same here and in Australia. They want money up front. It can cost more for vet fees than for your own health care.

Sorry to hear Violetta's unwell. That's disturbing even when you're

not worried about vet bills. Too bad they don't have health insurance for pets.

It works pretty well the same way here, although the vet does have the decency of giving me a bill...And I do hope Violetta will pull through...BTW, did you name her after Violetta in La Traviata?

It's not just at the vet's either. Even hospitals won't touch you unless they're absolutely guaranteed to be paid! My wife never bothers with worrying about 'payments' when it comes to the kitties. Everything is cash, cash, cash! It's just easier . . .
