Re: Gheeghee

Well GG I suppose it is like opening a cupboard to see what is in there. A door would be a bit too overpowering.

Re:

Yes I think baby's breath or Gypsophila is rather toxic to cats, but I should not think a sensible moggy would chew it  unless they needed grass .Funny some plants affect animals but not umans . I guess nothing is perfect keep on writing.

Re: It seems so early to be planting anything, let alone sweet peas

Yes one has to have a heated greenhouse Pat . Sweet peas are quite hardy but need to be hardened of, I notice we are expecting cold weather this week so I shall cover the ones in the tunnel. This last few winters here have been really warm, I saw a crow take a dove's egg from the ivy covered tree in the garden, Seems cruel, but a chick would not survive along now, it is the lighting stimulates the birds.

Re:

Yes Vermont it is sad in a way, some quite interesting folk stop here for a couple of months and the lose interest because, quite frankly they do not get the feedback they probably expect. As a lady remarked recently she would only reply to those who commented on her blog, I expect we all do this at  times if we are pushed for time. I would advise newcomers to just plonk a thumbs up on all sites, but who listens to me.

I thought about the star or thumbs up myself. Because I browse a lot, although I don't

always leave a comment. I do like your gardening tips. I also like your rhyming poems.

By the way, that was a great lure.

I like the idea of it being made known to use who is clicking on our blogs. I see that I get more clicks than comments and calling cards combined. I want to know who those people are.

I remember when I was a newbie. I did not comment much my first year here. I figured that there was some huge readership out there that would support my writings. In reality, there is not. I learned to play the game. Even then, one is not going to get rich here. Sadly, so many newbies find that this site does not have writers and readers in massive quantities and earnings are in the red.

I do think it was common some time ago for brides to use herbs, but I did not know of it today. I loved the picture you painted wth the story of the apple tree.Be blessed friend.

I love to read my friends and comment and I do try to encourage new folk to read others... calling cards do get you the click.

It seems so early to be planting anything, let alone sweet peas

and tomatoes. I'm thinking the worst of the winter is yet to come, and won't be gone in six weeks or so when the sprouts are ready for transplanting.  I don't have a greenhouse though - might be just the right time for it if I did.

I believe those 'little flowers' in the flower arrangements are called baby's breath, very popular mixed in with roses at Valentine's Day. And I don't know about the 'newcomers' and their commenting habits, but you're right. I too wish that everybody and anybody who drops by a post at least leave an emoticon, just to acknowledge they were there! You want people to visit and leave comments on your post, you should at least try to leave comments on others . . .

I used to comment a lot more

when I was on here years ago. It takes a while to get into the groove of it.

I also like to know who dropped by,

even if they have no comment to make.  Calling cards are useful, there.

A lot of old-timers here don't leave comments, either.  Whether it's a matter of not having much time to be here, in which case I'd rather they spent it writing, or just a casual habit of convenience, I know we all have our reasons. But leaving some acknowledgement is a courtesy and a kindness, especially when a comment has been thought out.

I find our lack of conversation disturbing...
