Re: Vermont01

I will...as soon as I get a hard copy (preferably a large print edition).  Thank you.

It doesn't sound like you're ready for an Emp Attack. You should read

  ''One Second After.''

Sometimes I don't realize what I have until I don't have it....or until I read about someone who doesn't have it!

TAPS

An interesting human annoyance and how we humans deal with rearranging our lives because of no fault of our own.A good read that appeals to most people that read it is why you wrote it so well love.

TAPS

Very annoying! We were without power for the better part of the day last year (Ice storm!), but at least we still had hot water in the tank to make instant everything - coffee, soup (both yucky!) and tea, and take a shower...

Reading this reminds me that we do realize what we have until it is gone...I could take a cold shower during summer if need be, although I prefer not to. Losing the hot water during winter necessitates a showering trip at Mom's house.

The things we take for granted sometimes, like, hot water! Worse case scenario, you can always boil some ( or nuke it ) to at least wash up until the system is back up and running! But yeah, this is a bad time of year to be without hot water for any length of time! Soon, soon . . .

Good thing you had the power on, to heat enough for a good face-wash!

Yes.....we are a spoiled lot......even a short period without our "basics" will make us chring.......

Well I suppose some of us imagine you standing under a cold shower shivering. We always swill our crockery off with cold water after washing up ,one never knows what is in the holding tank in the roof. My brother found a dead mouse once ,

Re: Gheeghee

It took me way, way back to when I was a kid and we heated water for everything.

I was interested---it took me back to the days when I didn't have the money to pay the gas bill (long story---maybe I'll make it a blog post) and had cold water for 8 months. I had to boil stock pots to fill up the tub for baths, or use the neighbor's shower. yuk, terrible time!

Interested...but of course...this community shares our ups and downs and in this January freeze to not have hot water is a definite misery. Thank goodness the heat wasn't out but it does seem odd that the hot only goes off when it is so needed. Glad you have had that hot shower and will be able to sleep comfy tonight.
