I had an aquarium when I was a kid, 12 or 13 or thereabouts, but there were too many distractions to look after the fish properly; so the aquarium became a terrarium...

that was a great sale and now fishies will have plenty of room and an area each that they can claim as their own territory.
You did have a lucky escape, our local pet shop often has rescue cats sitting there for sale for the rescue center...it is where we found Mr. Graysome...I never go near the shop if they have cats for my heart breaks for them.

Same ones they have in little round bowls at carnivals, and use as feeder fish for carnivorous fish. AKA, carp.

I might use that small tank for a few more small fish. When they grow, there will be room in the big tank for them, probably. Or maybe a garden...
I once wanted to make a great big salt-water tank, with colorful fish and especially those cool rock-clinging anemonies. But it's expensive to set up, and all I had was the tank. So I made a garden in it, like the Northwest woods, with lots of lovely ferns. Finally, I kept it that way, as the ferns got every prettier. I said, "With fronds like these, who needs anemonies?"

What are you doing with the old tank Ciel . An indoor flower garden? I expect you know one can make nice plant arrangements in large bottles. I thought of doing it once ,but I did not bother after looking up how to do it. I thought at the start you were going to say you bought some of those poor little fish that are kept for fish food.
