Oh how sad except for finding Little Darling. Once a dog gets  taste for chicken he should live away from them. These dogs are not well taken car of. That is a terrible tragedy on several fronts.

Poor old Chickens I guess they will have to be kept in an ark with a movable run. They were kept like that in thousands once but one had to be strong to move it, usually with a tractor on the larger ones. That is one lucky biddy. Put them off lay for a bit I expect.

Beautiful Christmas story with a miracle out of tragedy.

That is a real tragedy ...not the dogs fault of course, the owners should take better care if they must have big dogs. But what good news about Lil darling...and what a sweetheart that little girl is.

that must be one smart chicken

compared to the ones that didn't make it.

I imagine the owner of a chicken killed by a neighbor's irresponsibility can set the market value and demand payment.

As you know I love dogs - but it's completely irresponsible of that neighbour not to make absolutely sure they can't do any damage! And I'm glad cute little Abby has her smart 'Little Darling' back, clever enough to hide from the marauders...

Perfect Christmas story. How clever of Little Darling to escape the

pleasure killing spree. I have never had that kind of attachment to a chicken, but I do understand how it could happen. Here's hoping the dog owners make restitution for the loss. Higher fences might help, but based on things that happened when I was a kid, a dog that learns to kill chickens will never quit trying to do it.

What a great tale. And that's what I would call a miracle. Good for Abby ( and Little Darling ) . . .
