It is the Winter Blues. You will perk up when you hit the sunshine, you really need that booster. Wiley knows it and he is a good chap although he hates it when you are away.
Well we don't like it either,but it is better than being in hospital and he can talk to you each day. Do you think I could be a Psychiatrist in my next life .

My wife and I have two of those fireplace heaters, and they are fantastic! Like you said, they don't have to be run constantly, just occasionally, enough to warm up certain corners of the house! And you don't have to worry about propane or gasoline either ( a huge bonus ). And ya know, I don't think I've ever actually seen a grey mare in my lifetime! But those brown or black mares? They hate going up and down stairs too . . .

I love those fireplaces! My daughter has one and if we didn't have a real wood burning fireplace, I would have at least one or two.. Yes, take it easy and prop your feet up and look at the flames and before you know it, you will be in la! la! land! :) Wishing you better health.. It's a pain getting olderrrrrr. I sure feel my aches & pains these days, too.

Nice cup of tea, prop your feet up and watch an old favorite movie.
Or look at some nature program, something so dull it will put you in the mood for a nap. Even if this doesn't cure what ails you, you'll feel a little better when you wake up.
