Loved it really it brings back such memories...the love of my life when I was 19 turned out to be engaged to someone else and was amusing himself by taking me out when he visited us....When I met him years many years later, he was fat self centered and smelt. Didn't bathe or shave. LOL...true story too.

Yes I guess we all wished he had met up with Patty before he got hitched, But I guess on can fall in love with a Martian if there is no one else.

Perceptively written! It's always idle speculation of course, but I think we all wonder at times how different (for better or for worse!) our lives would be had we 'hooked up' with different people...
