Re: Re:

I am so jealous thinking about that dahlia.....and sure I can pretty well hold my own when I am being teased but I still wouldn't let Archie cut my flowers and sell 'em

Re: Justi

No use worrying Justi I don't mind a spot in a cup of tea, but I am now trying non-alcoholic  wine. At least one knows what one is doing after drinking that.

I like Mums.... I cannot imagine drinking 1/2 bottle of whiskey by mistake unless you knew you were drinking the first half and said 'what the heck'. Could be very dangerous. Well you have had an interesting week! Sorry they did not just give you a rebate on your water bill! Be blessed friend.

CCT

I've always liked 'mums - they tend to last longer in the vase then most...And Archie's FIL drank half a bottle of whisky by mistake? I have done that on occasion, though not lately, and never by mistake, even though some people might think of it as a mistake, LOL...

Re:

Oh he loves teasing the ladies Adnohr . I have to watch quality control so I dispose of anything dodgy before he can get his hands on it. Yes your Grandma would be carefully watching that the taps didn't drip. I left a tap dripping just for 24 hours and it filled a dustbin I was really surprised.

Re:

Oh! yes he would adore you Kabu he loves a sparky fight he would try to rib you without mercy. He cuts his own flowers to the bone his big dahlia  has now produced nearly 400 blooms and is still going.

Archie wouldn't like me either cause I'd tell him to stuff a sock in it. But I guess stamping down the greens on purpose amounts to the same thing . My grandma would be turning in her grave thinking about having to pay for water!! And she would love the mums.

No you didn't get a fair deal re the water, but then, I like you never expect anything but Bills from those people. I leave my Mums in the garden and even up here they still have a few flowers on them. I never pick my flowers, only snip off dead ones so as to get more. I love the real garden in the garden. Archie wouldn't like me.

Re: Pat

Well Pat I looked it up today and Mums can cause a skin rash, so maybe bunch ones is not a good idea.

That is great how you were getting a rebate from the water bill.

The big box stores like Lowe's & Walmart, undercut the price of potted

mums so the locals have a time of it making a profit - certainly they're not well paid for all the hours of work it takes to bring them to market... I like them, bright colors and the small blooms that look like pillows against the garden wall.

Re: Jimmy

I should be so lucky thanks for pointing it out. Better to be safe than sorry, once we had to wet a finger and hold it out to determine the prospect of an early frost.

It usually is a pain in the butt dealing with any company for any reason, but perhaps your persistence will pay off in the long run. And I must ask: 660%? Was that a typo? Did you mean 60%? Hmmm . . . And I think we're getting prepared for our first frost of the season. Time to bring the plants inside . . .
