Re: kabu

Skunks get killed on the roads here too. They smell sort of like Garlic to me and from the distance I don't mind it so much but it lingers. Not a scent that will blow from the car quickly. I am more than happy to enjoy our Skunks from a distance, just to know that wildlife here is abundant well fed and healthy is enough for me.

kabu

nothing like freshly mowed grass, the looks and smells.  and the skunks are really beautiful animals....as for the smell, i smell them all the time as they get killed crossing the highway all the time.  poor things, they dont stand a chance on this highway, nothing does.....

i think if you get sprayed they say to wash in tomato juice.  and i agree with cct, billy goats are revolting, they smell so bad that i would not even touch one.

good thing the gnomes had the sense to act like stones.....no tomato juice for them.

Now I have always wondered what a skunk smells like I remember one blogit member saying her dog disturbed one and it squirted . They had to wash it in something peculiar .

Goodness I can't remember what it was, I know it really was awful for them. I remember patting a Billy goat on the head once Crikey I couldn't get that pong off my hand  for ages. Archie keeps cutting my grass but I have laid black plastic over a large area it looks awful but it makes good standing.

I'd love to have the self-confidence of a skunk, to just amble about

as I choose without worrying about unpleasant confrontations. Of course I'd have to become a real stinker...

I know the satisfied feeling when the lawn is mowed and it shows off the garden so pretty, flowers abloom and sipping coffee, alone time just watching the animals from far off takes the cake

Yes they are so pretty and smell as bad as they are pretty. Have you not ever smelled one? Oh you do not want to scare one of them. You have about everything living there, it is so interesting. Yes Wiley should rest a bit. We love you guys.

Sipping coffee and relaxing - there are worse ways to spend the day, LOL! And did you know that skunks actually make great pets? That's after their scent glands have been removed, I guess...

Skunks really are pretty, and less high-strung than people think.

Oh, yes, Wiley deserves some rest...I myself do not recall ever having seen a skunk...I always liked how Mr. Le Pew mistook the cats for skunks.
