Arthur did not turn up today to cook lunch.

He was waiting for a parcel, it did not come.

so thought I will use up all my spare fruit

I had a melon and and, some Californian walnuts

they tasted a bit frowsty, I don't think they are so

nice shelled and a raspberry ice.

I think I could live on a desert island if there was

plenty of fruit and no natives. I suppose I could have had

a tin of Canadian salmon the red is quite good.

Arthur came down later and had a tin of beans.

it is good to go without cooked meals although we rarely

 have meat.

I bought a snoring device as I might have said and could

not get the pads for it ,so I used jelly babies and they melted

it looks like they fused the contraption.

Perhaps I'll let my other brother Patrick look at it he is wiz oldie

at anything like that but hopeless on the computer. He had a heart

op and I think he retains his old skills, but cannot learn new ones.

Toby sits on grannies knee

'Granny, did Gramps love you once?'

'Now Toby what made you think of that ?'

'Well, you had children, I thought they were

made of love.'

'You did, did you, well they are in a way.'

'What like a cat having kittens?'

'Would you like to go out to play?'

'Not really, I mean did you feel different

Before you had a baby, sort of funny?'

'Look Toby Grannies don't talk about things

like that it was a long time ago.

Anyway I forget, I probably did feel different.'

'Like floating about on wings Gran.?'

Something like that, I remember one day we spent

All day in bed, we were very tired our wings felt

So soft, I was drifting in Grampy's arms into, well

It seemed like Heaven."

'Is that what you felt Granny,'

'Goodness me child , it was a long time ago.

I only remember little things, I was probably dreaming.'

"Do you think Gramps would remember.'

'Oh no he never remembers much.'

'Shall I ask him?,'

"l think he would rather have a nice cup of tea.'

Granny have you got secrets that you won't tell me.'

'No Toby, but some things are kind of private,

Do you know what that means?'

'Yes kind of naughty I expect, I do watch television Granny

People bounce up and down in bed, but I've never seen

them flying with wings, is it different now because you wear

big bloomers. "

'What ever has got into you, child, I have to keep warm

these days.'

'Oh alright give me a cuddle, one day we will see

if you can remember.

Re:

Well I have quite a bundle of Zinnia plants Taps I was going to get Gazanias but I read somewhere that they were apt to cause a rash, I know a lot of flowers can do that, but there are plenty to choose from.

Re: CCT

Well you see Naut it is more fun growing different varieties once like you I only yearned to grow vegetables, but then I got bored with that and only grow the ones we like. As one gets older, one wishes to sample more things. Well some less so. Like Scotch.

When I had a yard and garden of my own, I always had a place for zinnias.  I always liked them.

I have never even heard of a Lisianthus! But to me just about any flower is lovely, even if its name is just that - 'Flower'...And I do like your intriguingly misty call for Help...

Re: Taps

Well dahlias are our main producer. I do like to grow a few garden flowers to give away and this new one if it is not too fussy sounds great. I am trying to think if I have a blue or green Dahlia but I don't think so. It is too late now but God willing I will find them next year.

Re:

Yes it is a problem Jimmy a solution made up of simple household products does help or of course one can buy flower food. Roses not a good choice I agree, but it is the thought that counts.

Re: Kabu

Yes new varieties are being offered the pure white look nice, I did see somewhere to appreciate the scent of  carnations , that they should be picked as they start to open, did you paint this picture?

Re: cct

Well Jean there are quite a few edible flowers, but I am loath to recommend them as one man's meat etc. Just delete the juicy reading after you have read it, you know it does not happen. I think you should grow more carrots.

i am looking for flowers i can eat.  i get mad when i see my husband pulling up the little wild onions, they have a beautiful white flower and you can eat them.

usually when someone pays more for something than i do, i dont worry somewhere along the road it equals out.

i love my kindle, and i am the only one that uses it, it will be a surprise to my children if something happens to me, as they might be shocked as to all i read. lol

I wish you well as you try to grow the Lisianthus...You do a great job at bringing the speaker to life in the poem.

this looks an interesting Lisianthus...Purple white or pink seem to be the main colors and it seems they are popular for wedding bouquets.

I guess it's always good to try new things, and I suppose that means with flowers as well. The problem always seems to be that the 'cut flowers' simply don't last as long. That's one of the reasons why my wife wanted carnations this past Valentine's Day! Besides being a pretty flower that she really enjoys, they lasted at least a week or two longer than the usual roses may have . . .
