Re: Justi

I suppose our early ancestors watched one or two extroverts dancing around the communal fire and threw then a few nuts in appreciation. Time moves on entertainment stays the same.

Re: Jimmy

thhYou've lost me Jimmy I go to bed early these days because Arthur wakes me at 5am if he stops over. My sister did offer me £50 for the tele. Damn, I said she could have it for nothing.

I agree with you. T.V. is greatly over-rated. The commercials are so hideous they would not encourage me to buy anything. Acting is poor quality. Costuming is off the rack of dog tired stores. I only like watching a few news programs, some cooking and landscaping shows. I agree totally with Pat B and that summation ruins it all!

Re: I find that I don't miss television.

Yes Ciel I was thinking of getting a bigger Computer Screen . Amazon on Prime keeps offering films, but Arthur said one would have to sit too far back to take advantage of that kind of project. I think it has had its glory days we know most bizarre things that happen or could happen. Hooray for puppets/

Re: Funny thing, how TV and communications technology is so improved,

Yes I find it all so boring and some of the ratty actors are like a lot of sex maniacs.

Re: mneme

Well mneme we did not have a tv for years. My mother had the choice of a refrigerator or a television. Guess which she chose. Of course there were no old ones around but years later we had a small one, colour when it came eventually was a rental. I could not believe I had owned this one for 6years they sure don't last like the early ones.

Re:

Sorry Adnohr must have been one of those days. Perhaps it is easier to disturb than rejuvenate. Have a hug from an old guy.

Re: jeansaw

I don't think I could watch that if I was paid to do so jean . Anything like that to do with graveyards feels horrible. Ghosts I don't mind. Perhaps I live too near to a cemetery.

An interesting exchange with Arthur there...A power conclusion you got there to the poem.

CCT...you are so down and out that I think you need a dose of Mother's worm medicine!!!

What is this so desolate poem, CCT? Brilliant, but actually giving life lived little meaning...

Just be careful! Remember what happened when Ralph Kramden and Ed Norton went halfies on a TV! It was late night drama, romance flicks vs. Captain Video! And you're right to not simply throw something away! If someone else can use it, why not?

I have to smile... my first tv on moving back to my home after a long absence was a 12-inch one lent by my neighbour.  I eventually bought a new one.. just as the technology changed and the big clunky ones were rapidly becoming obsolete.  After I'd had it a couple of years, when it was still in perfect working order, my partner invested in a big flat-screen 3D one and we brought his old (but very good) clunker to my house, on 'permanent loan'.  Mine had to go to the tip ... my one consolation is that someone in the third world will think it's the greatest things since sliced bread.

Funny thing, how TV and communications technology is so improved,

but the programming quality has gone to Hades in a handbasket.

I don't mind you not racking your brain these days, but if you do, I will read what you come up with.

I find that I don't miss television.

There was a time, my life was run by the tv schedule, and not missing a favorite show.  Now, I can get it all, or just about, online and in my own time. And even, without commercials.
