I haven't seen a bluebird since I moved from Ontario. Lovely things. Even if they did have a habit of coming here to Quebec, I doubt they'd show up anytime soon - we're expecting 10 to 15 cm of snow again today.

it goes from winter (which is like spring here) to summer here!

I certainly hope so! For us, it's the mating calls of the morning doves . . .

Well it sounds hopeful even if the Blue Bird was just passing on to warmer climes. Actually it has been a strange winter here more like spring it feels as if the sun is becoming really warm and one cannot help thinking of the old saying. 'If May comes early or May comes late, it will always make the old cow quake.'  or even another one to bore you. ' Do not shed a clout until May is out. ' Another one-- well never mind.

Does a bluejay count?  We had a noisy one squawking at the cardinals and woodpeckers.

And what a wonderful development that is...In Maryland, I can feel it in the air.

Ciel

I hope that saying doesn't apply here, LOL. Although the eastern bluebird is said to belong here, I have never seen one in my backyard! We only have blue jays, and they've been here all winter! Speaking of winter - it seems to have established itself here for good, with more snow again tomorrow, and a low of -16C overtnight...

I especially like the very last sentence of your post....

But the idea of the bluebird's arrival and the lovey doves makes a case for smiling, too.
