Re: Re: CCT,

Ciel as much as I appreciate being offered that precarious honour.  I feel in my water that I am a much too accomplished Orc slayer as I have played nightly wiping worlds of this menace. I have to say with scornful remarks from Arthur as I twitched the game to easy.

Re: TAPS,

Most of us tend to catch ourselves going off in a dubious direction, and say, "Oops, can't get into that here... we should talk later." We really are quite a civilized group!

Re: Pat,

And the women who crochet.. Well, they frown on hookers who are plying their trade on flights.

Re: CCT,

"a cozy little bundle of warm knitters..." This phrase is going to be put to further use!

While no one in the group has yet gotten particularly violent, there is the idea that people who don't discuss anything anyone feels deeply about will keep feelings from being hurt: No one should go home from knitting, crying. Some are now questioning whether the members of the group are grown up enough to handle disagreement on that scale.

In my online game, I created a kinship that was meant to be for older women players, the ones who tend towards more maturity and courtesy even as we rove Middle-earth beating up orcs for their stuff.  It's called The Feisty Grannies Knitting Circle. You are welcome to join as an Honorary Granny.

I would think that putting certain subjects on the no-talk list would make people all the more desirous of talking about those things.  If someone broaches one of those subjects, does everyone automatically lunge on them, or make them leave, or what.  LOL

I heard a little old lady with knitting needles & yarn was put on

the no-fly list.  The Powers That Be heard she as knitting an Afghan.

How funny Ciel, well go on it is funny in a way. Now if you were all making machine guns it might be a bit uncomfortable for some wondering at the destination. I cannot imagine a less violent group than a cozy little bundle of warm knitters. No I am not going to let imagination run into the reality of most groups. May I suggest votes could take place, ie. Exotic critters for-- please hold up a white sock .Well you get my drift. You have put me off joining the local club , I shall sit and knit in solitude even if the socks don't fit.

I think it's virtually inevitable for differences of opinion to emerge even in small groups. Critical is always how those are resolved...But I'm curious what kind of exotic critters someone would bring to a knitting circle, and why...

Ciel

Run it like an AA meeting where steps could be devised to cover all the needs of the group maybe.

I too believe that there is room for compromise as well.
