And then there's that chemical imbalance problem, and Tourette's Syndrome, and Angleman's Syndrome, and all those other things, and even a genius here and there.  Somewhere between the top and the bottom IQ there am I.

As Ciel observes quite correctly, science is a method! And the scientific method of investigating it has led to some, but very limited understanding of the brain...

Actually there was a great show on public TV last night with a doctor explaining how close science is to having an answer for Alzheimers disease.

One of the most astonishing things about a brain

Is how the brain of someone with multiple personality disorder can generated entire complex personalities with different characteristics and abilities: one can speak French, another English, one is near-sighted, another sees 20/20, one plays piano like a virtuoso while another can't carry a tune in the proverbial bucket...

And the thing about science is that it is a process and a way of understanding What Is, it isn't What Is, itself.

I think the poor old brain is mightily abused by most. Was it meant to make sense of such things things as constant music. Or too be churned like milk to butter our cruder senses. Where is the hidden danger it is suppose to look out for, no wonder it aches at times, trying to sort out all new innovations.
