Re: Taps
I hope she has not got building permission. I wonder if the other bird took it for her own nesting material, it would be a lazy way to construct a nest.

Birds and flowers and apple trees--I love this post.
A bird is trying to make a nest in the eaves of my porch/deck. It is fun watching. Last spring, just as it completed its work a big black bird came and pulled it all down and she had to start all over again.

Re:
It was fairly smelly Jimmy my brother still swears by it.. One mixes two different gels together and it sticks like glue. I don't think the gypsies would sell many of their wooden flowers these days.

Re: CCT
It grows in sandy soils by the sea in places Naut but of course there is a variety of ones used in gardens . Yes Arthur has his good points I bought two bottles of Sauternes.
Arthur said , 'I was going to have one of those.' 'Did you pay me?' I inquired. 'Yes.'
Well what else could he say.

Re: It isn't easy to train a tree--
Oh dear Ciel a good job you are not planning an orchard. Trees
do what you want them to,these days. I should start practicing
on a runner bean first.

It isn't easy to train a tree--
I find that it works as well as anything just to say Yes! in a happy voice when it does something you want it to, and No! in a dire voice when it does something you don't want. Just like dogs and cats and clematis vines. Obviously, some are quicker than others.

I had never heard of Sea lavender, though I know of the land variety, which my LSW has in her soap. Would Sea lavender smell a little, well, fishy? And at first I thought, wait, where have I heard this story before? Someone is given a tree but he's not allowed to eat the apples? But as I read on I saw Arthur was a bit less rigid then the other guy, and I think it's wonderful that he lets you eat some of the apples from the tree he gave you...

I know what you mean about some of those artificial flowers. Many are quite convincing! And just how strong was that glue? Hopefully it didn't give anyone a headache . . .
