Re: Re: Kabu,

oh you remind me My son and DIL first married, just kids, and they had crayfish in the fishtank instead of fish and I found them all over the floor because no one put the top back on the tank...terrified I picked them all up and put them back in the tank screeching as I did. I put the lid back on...next day Son took them back to the pet shop.

Ciel

Though I'm into rescuing dogs ( Bennie is a rescue dog) and other animals (though I'll stick with dogs and cats) I had never thought of rescuing fish, maybe because for me fish are food, having more or less given up on red meat. But I must admit that there's something touching about rescuing fishies from the fate of being fish food, and I'm sure it's good Karma...

That is nice of you for trying to save those fish.

Good for you! Even fish deserve a better fate than that! Some of those same stores keep mice, hamsters and gerbilles on hand as well just to feed the snakes! Auschwitz was probably a good term to use . . .

Re: Kabu,

I had a blue crayfish for a few hours... Overnight, it escaped its tank, and we found it months later behind the stove.

Pretty, but not smart.

Re: CCT,

Stomping seems so violent, but as you say, it is quick.  But he'd be better to put them in bottles and give them to kids in the neighborhood.  Or sell them to a pet store.  Or a carnival.

Re: TAPS,

I get a lot of pleasure watching them, too.  I've heard that watching fish in an aquarium can shift your brain waves: Watch a betta to go alpha.

you are a darling. I am going to start checking out pet stores up this way, when I get back and in Australia. There is no need for cruelty. Poor little guys and bless you for doing your bit to give even the fish a happy life....yes they will grow feet. LOL

Well done Ciel, poor little devils deserved a bit of nourishment.

Sadly life is cruel. I was only talking to a chap today he said he had too many small goldfish in his pond. I asked him if he could not find homes for them. 'No' he replied if I catch one I just stamp on it.

I suppose it is a quick way of dealing with the problem,it is better than starving to death

and being chewed by other fish.

What a faithful rescuer you are of living creatures, and of wonderful nature that you enjoy and share with us with your photos.
