After reading this, i went out and bought some rhubarb.  Couldn't find any fresh so I bought a big bag of frozen rhubarb, some dark sweet cherries, strawberries, blueberries, raspberry combo.  I'm going to make a big combo pie.  Actually there is enough for two, one for Son #3 and Phil and one for Sis and I to share.  Son #1 doesn't like fruit pies, only chocolate pie and cheese cake and éclairs.

Re: Taps

No one has to remember most plants have to really have warm soil to thrive. It is always a temptation to grow too early, one sees bedding plants for sale straight out of warm greenhouses and are sure to be checked by cold nights. Although you are about a month or so before we are free from night frosts.

Re: Naut

Goodness Naut you would never drink Scotch again. We used to as kids buy cheap bottles of wine Tarrogana wine something like that and it always gave us instant stomach ache.

Re: Ciel

Yes it is like crooking one's finger whilst drinking tea  Ciel or shaking hands not using the sword arm. Or patting a camel and not sniffing your hand afterwards. Or washing ones hands after using the keyboard.Etiquette before common sense.

Re: FS

Yes it seems strange FS but the birds are picking up nesting material. Remember the old adage . 'The March winds will blow and we shall have snow.

I do not ever recall seeing a bumblebee during the month of February. The weather everywhere has been something to say the least...Wise words at the end of the poem.

One bumble bee. Soon to be followed by the rest of the team.

I know you must be looking forward to the spring and summer growing seasons.

Oh my lands it is so good to hear from you. I was so worried.

A bit strange to see a lone bumblebee. Perhaps he was just lost, trying to find his 'brood.' And I completely understand your anxiety over those taxes! A universal angst we all share! Hopefully Archie's 'virus' is nothing more than a 24-hour thing . . .

Wine in a mug...

The very idea opens up ideas!  Why, after all, should wine always be drunk from dainty glasses, as if nothing else can do it justice.  So high and ethereal, wine is... or drunk from the bottle straight, for a whole different reality. I like the idea of wine in a mug better than wine-in-a-box which is about as declasse (imagine the accents where they belong) as it can get.  Now, a mug... that simply brings it to earth, shows it a whole different kind of respect.

I'm sorry it didn't turn out so well for you.

CCT

Ah yes, bumblebees - I don't think we'll see any for quite a while this year, though last year they had built their nest down an abandoned mouse hole in the lawn...And I've never had the pleasure of being offered rhubarb wine by a lady, LOL...

Loved it all.  Son #3 is beginning to get real antsy about spring yard work and planting, but we just began another really cold spell for this week.  I told him not to begin too early or he would have to do everything twice.

What a great post. Glad to see you hope you are fine and dandy. I especially loved the last sentence, it is likely you will always suspect women with sweet treat promises that have to be warmed on the stove. Good to read you again.
