Re:

Goodness those birds are coming on a bit early Pat . Any snips of gossip will always be welcome, perhaps later you might have a bit on humming birds. We never see those sadly.

Re: As you say,

Yes Ciel I must remember to be more generous, well not this week. Birds are a bit more selective in reality as you know.

CCT

It does give one a bit of a start when one's school mates are passing away...And I always like to learn from the birds - they're so much more instructive than the bees...

As you say,

what we have flutters away when what we are moves on to greater things.  So I believe, when I remember to consider it.  We get so attached to the having...

I'm delighted with your little birds!

I thought the last line in your opener was brilliant "All their ambitions and possessions flakes of debri" The poetry was good as well, but that last line gave pause to think...Very powerful.

hanky Panky in the bushes I see re the poem..and I am sorry about your old school mate. selfishly we are happy that you are well and hangin' in there to outlive 'em all.

I'm sorry about your friend. Funny how we take for granted they'll always be around.

As for your bird gossip, it sounds exactly like what they're chattering about in the Bayberry bush next to the bird feeder. Exactly!

It is tough when our peers pass away. One of the people I went to high school with passed away back in September...I like the ways in which you have your characters interact.
