I must admit I know very little about what those types of sessions are supposed to accomplish, or how they are actually supposed to proceed. But it seems to me that if they are becoming somewhat annoying, and don't appear to be actually helping in any way, then it might be time to move on. Something tells me Sir Wiley gets better feedback, more input, and feels better after spending some time with us here in Blog-it land than he does at any of those sessions . . .

burr you should get a prize just for going out in that cold, not me if it was that cold I would have to find an excuse not to go.  But glad you had a nice dinner out of the whole ordeal

Hm, I don't know what to say, they always seem to want to open a can of worms.

Sadly you are only trying to get advice from a fellow human, probably be as well to go and not take it seriously, although expecting people to travel in such weather at Wiley's age does not give one confidence in the person conducting the session.

Kabu

There are times the therapists are off because of something going on in their own lives. Don't give up just this time sounds like he was way off. Give it some more time to see if there is something else if not then stop. Just a suggestion sweetie. It is cold as can be here too. We don't know how to handle it. Love to you both.

Kabuiepie-;)~

Good post and a horrible weather day, and that therapist has PTSD himself and today his annoyance with something governed what he had to say. Thank ciel for the web address as well love.

Here is to hoping that things get solved with the sessions.

PTSD can be more complicated than anyone suspects.

In fact--and I have written about this before--I suspect many of those who suffer from PTSD are predisposed to it by an earlier established Complex PTSD.

Pete Walker knows about this stuff.  Just reading a few pages on his site literally changed the course of my life, as I recognized myself in his descriptions, and for the first time understood what I was contending with.

This might hold some answers for you and for Wiley both.

I wish I knew what to suggest that might be helpful, but I don't think

I can, really. Except perhaps to mention there were three involved in the PTSD counseling session. Is it possible that third party had issues of his own that were interfering with the flow?  Maybe after you sleep on it something will reveal itself. Hugs.
