Re: Snails? I know they can be destructive.

Surprising how far they will travel to get a munching Pat. Sometimes I have searched for a culprit and found it yards away from the canteen.

Re:

I know they don't like your old favorite SALT but it is not nice for a lot of plants. Did you that different species of plants are growing along some hedgerows similar to those near the sea as the native varieties cannot survive the salt spash from the roads.

Re:

Thank-you Justi I think the best plan is to stand the pots on benches in the winter and grease the legs of the benches with Vaseline that might stop them.

Re:

Well Jimmy I can assure you these have halos . Well they are trying to sell something. I think it is best to stand the pots on staging in the winter, I must remember.

Re:

Well think on Kabu my pounds of flesh are in the freezer . A lot of places are flooded one of the roads by Oxford is under water, not safe to go far more rain coming in.

Re: ChiffChaff

No Bro I like to walk up the stairway if there is one. One might get trapped with a harlot.

Re: Naut

Naut one ofthe horriblest sights I have seen was a small boy searching the hedgerow and scrunching up snails. Those high elevators give me the willies. Seakale is like Spinach but much nicer.

CCT

I must tell you: I have no idea what seakale is - I only know landkale! And I wouldn't have pulled it all up because snails nibbled on it - you could call them escargot and eat them as well...And I liked your elevator ride to 7th Heaven in the company of an angel! I've been on similar elevators here in T.O - some of them go to the 90th Heaven and higher, but the ride is always so damn fast, it's barely possible to get acqainted with any of the angels...

Ha...underneath that rough exterior you are just one big heart. This whole post proclaims tis so. Loving the flowers and such bright happiness they bring.

I've never heard of Telephone Angels before! Over here in the states, I believe that anyone who would be considered a 'telephone angel' probably charges $20 an hour to talk dirty to someone!  And first it was caterpillars, and now it's snails! Those birds should be having a feast by now . . .

Those flowers were such a lovely sight this cold, cold morning. I am sorry about the snails. There are many stories about the net about how to get rid of them. I have not found anything that gets the pesky things gone. Now that seventh floor must be some place. Be blessed in all that you do.
