Thank you Justi, she was quite a character. Glad you feel better.

Oh this is such a dear story. I could see the whole fish story loved the whole post but I particularly liked the great aunt.

Re: Jimmy

Well Jimmy we chewed cordite out of bullets and lumps of pitch. The old Lady in the sweet shop wrapped sweets in a newspaper cone so we were probably a bit immune to ink.

Actually, I think that proprietor may have been doing you guys a favor, wrapping your fish in that white paper as opposed to the newspaper. "Ink poisoning" was a possibility . . .

Re: Ciel...

Ciel I think most chippies put the goodies in greaseproof bags these days. I was surprised to hear that they still wrap them in newspaper in Manchester. Perhaps they are overbought papers from stores and used to keep the contents hot. I'll ask one or two locally how they are served. At the price they should wrap them in gold foil.

Re:

Oh, Kabu it is such fun to explore your idea's. I thought I would write a bit about little violet. I have lost the original, so I am just doing it for fun, not on this page as I am thinking maybe I write too often on here.

Re:Pat

Yes She was great Character, but a bit of a tyrant at times.I remember my Mum saying when my Dad introduced her for the first time and it had been raining. 'take your stockings off. I won't take any notice if your feet are dirty.'. Mother was quite shocked she was a personal maid at that time to local gentry.

She used to swing an axe at 70 Naut. Wore a cap and one of her sons was the first the lad to win a place in an Oxford Uuniversity. He became a Don.

I guess Auntie resented being taught a lesson at her ripe age, but she did learn it, LOL...And your poem engenders lovely, summery thoughts, very welcome on this frigid, wintry night...

I always enjoy reading about people's past experiences such as the one with your aunt...I have often wondered "who [many people] ever were."
