A great and helpful posts to everyone, I'm with Kabu about debt, and don't have a credit card with a balance on it. We both are very aware how easy it would be to get into debt beyond our means, so our love for each other is enough to keep us together. Besides, Kabu is the boss, and I'm a wimp, and don't want to face her if I blew a bunch of money in a casino or something.

it is always the same story isn't it...if it sounds too good to be true then it is.

I pay credit card off each month before it is due for interest to be payed and it surely keeps me on the straight and n arrow. If I can't pay it off then I can't put anything more on it  and it has worked for me this way for years.

I have noticed the increase in the amount of junkmail as well...I am happy with the one credit card that I have.

Yes Pat and remember interest rates have never been lower, It will be tougher still as they creep back up again. A chap I know has 70K in a pension fund , seems a good whack, but he has been offered 2.400 pounds inflation proofed for life per annum and he will lose benefits. It was obligatory to take this at 65 but is being increased to 70. Sadly one has to buy a pension eventually.

Merry Christmas, Pat--spend spend spend! HoHoHo!

It's not the recovery, it's the season.

Well, the economic indicators show that it is...But people should really not use more than one credit card! Having a bunch of 'em, with several maxed out, is a sure path to financial ruin...I think they should teach basic economics in high school...
