I always thought I wanted to write a novel, until I met you on Blogit. Reading your works, and posts like this one, made me quickly realize that I don't have what it takes to fill out a novel.

No I didn't care for the pregnancy Pat, it left complications and made the Mother appear a bit feckless. I suppose folk don't like to express an opinion. This was the draft one has to revise and I think you are making a good job of doing so.

What Naut commented makes a lot of sense to me. I can relate in that when I have written novels, putting off those edits gnaws at me until I make them.

Damn the rules! I think it would be annoying to write on while being nagged by thoughts of the need for revisions, even if this changes the characters and the character of the book...

If the aunt and uncle only just raised him,
if they were cold and flinty, he could well have followed paths that ended him up in prison, and with that soul-aching question behind every action and belief: Why can't anyone love me? That might explain his distance, why he seems unaffected by prison, and why he desperately wants her to break the pattern life has taught him. It's an irony of human nature to hope, despite experience and expectation, after all. And in her scars, he sees his own.

Actually you really are a brilliant writer. I just wanted you to get those numbers up and have been thinking it is going so well and your dialog is wonderful But I agree there are some holes ...thought editing later would fix that...and Simon should have problems after being in prison...may be Homophobic ???with a cause and goody two shoes don't go to Prison so he must have a darker side.......Perhaps this is just too good for a Nano write...
