A well-felted hat is pretty darn near waterproof. I have played with felting some, not a lot... the Wizard's hat was a happy fluke!

Well, for now we still have late-summer weather, 70F in the shade and sunshine! Of course, sooner or later we'll get what you have, unless it gets stuck somewhere on the way in Ohio or some such - may that happen, LOL...

Sounds lovely, especially in the mountains. Although I like Winter too, I must admit I'm not looking forward to the snow, in any form! A light dusting to cover the pine trees looks nice, but when you get buried, I suddenly find myself looking forward to Spring . . .

your blog reminded me of when I was a small boy sitting
in a dreary old school and suddenly through a small window I saw
these massive white snow flakes falling, It was a joyful experience that
I had forgotten, thank you for reminding me.
