Pat...I remember watching "Leave it to Beaver"

when I was a kid, and another fav was "My Three Sons" ..that one was a little different withouta "Mom" figure, but it wasn't because Mom had divorced Dad or run off to become a porn star....

I totally agree with this post. I like watching National Geographic and History channels.

As soon as some sweet young thing has her eyes change to gleaming yellow or whatever we switch channels. I find it is just evil following evil. I so admired America and loved it with its healthy moral values...yes that is what TV coming from the States portrayed to us.

I definitely agree with your post and especially your last statement.  I just read in C_C_T's newest post that television is for pigless people.  Maybe that's what's wrong with us.  I don't know one person who has a pig.

Pat

You've heard of Gresham's Law, "Bad money drives out good money"... I think we can apply that to TV - In the long run, "Bad TV drives out good TV," LOL...

Well Pat I hardly ever watch the television these days, I find it too boring apart from documentaries and the odd programme. I think all the jokes have been used up or do not shock any longer. I remember the Waltons and the family that hit the oil well. Of course we used to love the cowboys and there were some other good programmes from your country. Dads Army used to be a favourite here.

It is amazing just how quickly television changed.

Once again, we are in agreement.

The cycle of pandering--We just give them what they want to see, we are just reflecting who you are--and being shaped by what we see, thus becoming what They think we are...   It all comes down to indulgence and self-indulgence rarely balanced with good wholesome fare.  Remember the guy who experimented with eating nothing but McDonald's for a month?  Nearly killed himself on that diet. Difference between McD and TV is that McD listened, and put more salad in their menu.
