Re: Mia,

Yes, it is hard to separate the two, but I think we must.

So sad

This case in particular, and the fact that similar situations are happening more and more often, all over the world. I agree that it's a cultural issue, but Islamic religion factors so heavily into their culture, it can be very hard to separate the two.

Agree with JimmyA totally.

i know that women around the World suffer terrible what I cannot begin to come to terms with AND I like how your Post points out that it isn't just a muslim thing, it has always been and women have suffered and suffered and suffered...I just think that right now it is the Muslim radicals who are behaving very badly and everyone is nervous, wishing they would just go away.

Needless to say, incidences like these are beyond despicable, and the fires of Hell are just not powerful enough for these men! I am very happily married, have two sisters ( one older, one younger ) that I am very close to, three sister-in-laws that I love dearly, and many female friends. And if anything even remotely like this happened to any one of them, I would be the one out in front of the mob holding the large torch and pitchfork until the perpetrators were tracked down and skinned alive! Very upsetting, to say the least . . .

Oh, and I wonder why Saif al-Kindi can't (or won't) say anything...

A very sad and disgusting case!

I wrote a response to Annicita's post, which was a response to - well, nothing I had said, LOL. But having said that, the evidence is overwhelming that in Islamic cultures 'infidel' women are considered inferior, which has various ramifications, among them often that it's okay to rape them. The data from Europe, which I am quite familiar with, shows an absolutely staggering trend...

Re: TAPS,

Indeed... and horribly true that we can do so little about it. It takes generations to change the way a culture thinks.

What a horrible post!  It is horrible because it is horribly true.
