Re: Re: Kabu,

I miss the cicadas here, they were wonderful and noisy in Sydney...

Re: Naut,

Davy used to react that way to the vacuum cleaner.  I don't know when he decided that it wasn't a real threat, but he doesn't anymore.  I think it was his occasional nanny that persuaded him.  Maybe Ben just needs it explained clearly.

Re: FormerStudentIntern.

I know Maryland gets some real thunderbangers!  I have a daughter living out that way... Gaithersburg.

Re: CCT,

I suppose I could neglect the hinges and get some good creaking out of em... And Violetta does, now and then, wander around yowling. Yes, it's a great idea!

Re: Kabu,

I do love the summer song... though when I was growing up in NY, I hated the cicadas that would not let me sleep at night.  Now, they'd be part of the music.

We have been having a lot of thunderstorms as of late in Maryland.

Ciel

We too have had thunderstorms, more than our usual share, actually. We don't get as spectacular a view of them as you do - far too many trees and other houses around. I always liked them, though, until Ben joined the family - his furious barking is loud enough to drown the thunder, and to fray ones nerves...

I'm not sure which may be louder . . . the chirping crickets or the thunder! The main difference is that the crickets are probably less dangerous . . .

Beautiful.   I'm sure that rain was needed there.

I don't mind the rain as long as I don't have to get out in it...and it is so good for our lawns and gardens..
