Re: Re: I have a leg o' lamb steak in the freezer

I will wear gloves and handle it with a long fork, if that would help.

Re:

Funny you should mention that Jay ,I think you would be fairly safe with cow muck.

however there have been reports of some plant deaths from the use of horse manure, the horses had been treated with some chemical which had evidently not hurt them but was not so hot for the plant life. With anything it is a good plan to let it rot down say over winter or longer if one can get cow muck mixed up with grass cuttings and rough vegetation. I think that would be ideal.when you get your chickens bung all the waste in as well lovely. I envy you.

I wonder the same thing about the good earth after all the cow crap I put in it...Does anything linger.

Hi Kabu I see you are still dabbling in the murky world of make believe. I have been  catching frogs in one of my nephew's pond, they are very thin as they cannot get out and have eaten all the tadpoles . I shall let them recover at CC 's slug ridden paradise. Thank you for the verse.

I think the old boy had a shock Pat, but if one wants what is not available, one must be prepared to pay Arthur thought it was funny and said 'Well he could buy a Butchers shop if he wanted to do so,'

Re:Marris

Not too good for you too much meat Marris . Yes the lady told me after her second hubby passed on. 'Oh dear now I have got to go through with it all again.'

Re: I have a leg o' lamb steak in the freezer

I don't know much about meat Ciel, but I remember  when beef became A pound sterling for a pound of beef and everyone said it was like eating money.  My neighbour gave me a big joint of  meat, I had it in the freezer for a year and in the end I buried it beneath a rose bush Can't you wear gloves, I am definately not going to wrestle you if you have been cutting up lamb.

Re: Justi

So much cheaper to buy N.Z. but I don't really like shopping for folk Justi . It was bound to be expensive the farmers were hauling the baby lambs out of snow in Wales the bad weather buried the mother sheep. Yes Justi once they had a lifetime to find out, now a few years appears normal.

Rumour: ...

I don't think too much red meat is good for one Rumour and we have had too many scares the latest lambs born with three legs etc. Kind of puts one off somewhat.

Re: Dr JPT

It was a bad year for English lamb Dr a cold late spring many were lost in late snow drifts .

I never acquired the taste for lamb, though my Dad loved it and was an army chef. It seems expensive. I am one who just picks items up when in the supermarket and assume the total in my head as I go to the check out lane.

ChiffChaff

Too much fuss is made out of the use of plastic. I've been eating all my food packaged in plastic for years, and many quickie suppers cooked and eaten out of plastic.

Reading this has me wondering if my mother looks at the price when she buys meat...It is great to see Uncle Albert return.

CCT...

What a beautifully vivid display of colour!  I had to put my sunglasses on to see it properly...as for the price of meats here, we stick to chicken and fish mainly, and occasionally a shepherd's pie or chili....

CC

If it cost $30 I would be doing without. Oh my goodness that is a lot of money for lamb as great as it is.

I loved the poem as usual. Yes I do think before the honeymoon is over many do not know one another.

I have a leg o' lamb steak in the freezer

that cost $5 for just under one pound.  It is both frozen and foreign. (Australia) My hope is to marinate it and barbecue it. Funny thing, I don't like the way my hands smell of lamb fat after handling it, cutting it up to make stew for instance.

Lamb is out on my budget!  I ate an occaisional leg of lamb fixed the Greek way, years ago.  Chicken and turkey do very well, however.  She sounds a bit obvious, but she did get married.

I've found I can do very well with very little meat - just use it as a

garnish with the vegetables. And for the price of those chops, one should be able to buy at least three or four chickens. I do hope they were delicious. Uncle Albert's verses are both naughty and nice.
